Dug is a renowned hacker and leading voice in the information security industry. He is often quoted on cybersecurity issues by international media, and appears onstage at industry events around the world. Prior to launching Duo, Dug spent seven years as founding Chief Security Architect at Arbor Networks, protecting 80 percent of the world’s Internet service providers, and helping to grow the company to $120M+ annual revenue before its acquisition by Danaher. He also built the first commercial network anomaly detection system, acquired by Check Point Software
Dug is heavily involved in mentorship and fostering entrepreneurship in Michigan. He is a founding member of Ann Arbor’s a2newtech and an active participant in Tech Brewery, a2skatepark and the Entrepreneurs' Foundation of Ann Arbor. He earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Michigan.
